Greetings. I am first and foremost a father or two wonderful kids and husband. I find design a way to bring peace and clarity to the world. I am fascinated by the fact that the design of a space can have such a large influence on the interactions the take place with or near it…an Apple store vs. a Congregational church…amazing…all by design.
My other passions include elusive quick trout darting through cool, clean water. The sound of sunrise. Dark, rich coffee and potato vodka gimmlets. Northern wood and the silence of travel by canoe. My preference is to have a few really close friends over standing out in a crowd. I believe there is power in collaboration, listening and understanding but also a need for time alone.
In June of 2009 I was diagnosed with a bone marrow cancer named multiple myeloma. This encounter with a disease that they have not yet found a cure for has reshaped my life, my dreams and all things that I thought were relevant. I pray now frequently for the rapid development of treatments and give thanks to the support of my doctors, friends and family.
This far my treatment could not be going better…amen.
